Meet Michael King, CEO

I started Civil CFO after seeing too many 8‑figure contractors work insane hours for 3% net and constantly stress about cash. Our work is simple to say, hard to do: help owners turn chaotic, low‑margin operations into durable, profitable construction businesses.

Before Civil CFO, I served as a nuclear engineer in the United States Navy. The military forged the discipline, planning, and clear communication that now show up in how we run numbers, make decisions, and hold owners (and ourselves) accountable. Most of our clients value straight talk, reliability, and follow‑through. So do we.

Meet Michael King, CEO

I started my career as a nuclear engineer on submarines in the U.S. Navy. The job was simple: no surprises, ever.

When I moved into the business world in 20201, I kept seeing the same pattern in construction: impressive revenues, horrible margins. CEOs were flying blind on cash, WIP, and margins because there was no affordable way to get true CFO-level leadership. 

In 2016, I started Civil CFO to fix that. Since then, our team has help nearly 100 businesses scale from 7 to 8 figures, increase margins, and reduce debt - at a fractional of the cost of a full-time CFO.
