Construction is the most financially complex industry there is at any size. Percentage of completion, retainage, WIP, bonding, pay-when-paid, change orders. A finance leader who has not lived it will drown in week one.
So we do not hire generalists. Every Fractional CFO on our team has actually sat in the CFO seat of an 8- or 9-figure contractor. Not a CPA who lists construction as a vertical. Not a consultant who added "construction expertise" to a website. Before starting Civil CFO, Michael spent 11 years supervising nuclear power plants in the US Navy and leading operations at a $90M plant.

COO
Mistie is the co-owner and COO at Civil CFO. She leads onboarding and client delivery. She brings two decades of operations, training, and team-development leadership, most recently as a director at one of the country's largest real estate development firms.
