Application & Initial Review
Tell us who you are, what you’ve done, and why Civil CFO is the right next step for you. We’re looking for clear thinking, a track record of responsibility, and alignment with how we work and what we believe. Strong applications share specific outcomes (not just job duties) and show how you’ve taken ownership in prior roles.
Conversations With Our Team
If there’s a potential fit, you’ll speak with one or more team members. This is not a scripted HR screen. We’re testing for judgment, communication, humility, and culture fit. We’ll talk about how you make decisions, how you’ve handled conflict, how you receive feedback, and what you’re looking for in this season of your career. In later conversations, you’ll meet leaders who will be honest about expectations: pace, accountability, and our culture.
Role-Specific Work Sample
For most roles, you’ll complete a practical exercise that mirrors real work: it might be a case, a short project, a written brief, or a process challenge. We want to see how you think, how you structure problems, and how you communicate your reasoning. This is less about being perfect and more about clarity, rigor, and teachability. We review this together with your interviews to decide if there’s a mutual fit.
